As the summer comes to an end and the weather begins to cool we are just starting to warm up for the coming year at the CSI Boston chapter. In case you were enjoying the summer and missed the prior announcements, there is a lot going on this year. The biggest item is our move from Cambridge to Boston’s Maggiano’s Little Italy located in park square at 4 Columbus Ave. This new location is a short walk from the T and includes validated parking at the adjacent Motor Mart Garage. While we enjoyed our stay in Cambridge over the past several years a move was required based on rising expenses and declining membership. We hope the move is beneficial to most of our members and as we are here to serve you and your specifying needs please feel free to give us your input.
To that point, John and Carol Bunzick with help form Howard Levine and Kevin Murray put out a membership survey this summer in an effort to get direct feedback from the membership on chapter meetings, services, goals, and chapter direction. I hope you have all had a chance to take a look at the survey. It consists of 11 questions and should take no more than a few minutes of your time, the link is as follows: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=m_2fOV6AhMJMhFWURVhvEstA_3d_3d.Later this fall we will publicize the results and begin to refocus the chapter based upon the results.
Also coming up later this year you can look forward to what we hope will be a yearly calendar marking Boston CSI events and meetings. We will continue to meet on every second Wednesday except in October were we pushed the meeting back to October 15th to avoid religious holidays. In November we will be hosting a reception with SCIP (Specifications Consultants in Independent Practice) at the Build Boston Convention. We are currently looking for manufacturer representatives to volunteer to place signs at their Build Boston Booth to help publicize this event. And in December we will attempt to hold our Winter Reception at the ICA pending another snow storm.
It should be a great year and we hope you all can make it to at least on of the meetings this year. I look forward to meeting you all and will see you at Maggiano’s!
